What Makes Great Training Content?
What Makes Great Training Content?
🎯 Overview
Before you upload your first drill, let’s talk about what separates “just another video” from a lesson that actually helps people improve.
Great training content is:
- Clear – Your instruction should make sense even without video.
- Purposeful – The viewer should know exactly why they’re doing the drill.
- Repeatable – Can someone practice this alone or with a partner?
🔍 What to Focus On
1. Clarity Over Complexity
Don’t try to sound smart — try to sound helpful. Keep language simple and focused.
✅ Instead of:
"You're engaging your posterior chain dynamically during the descent phase."
✅ Try:
"Lower slowly, keeping your back straight and core tight."
2. Teach One Thing at a Time
Avoid overloading your viewer. One drill = one skill focus.
✅ “This drill is all about improving your passing under pressure.”
❌ “This will help with passing, vision, shooting, and cardio.”
3. Frame the Why
Every good lesson should answer:
- Who is this for?
- What skill are they building?
- How will it help them?
Example:
“This drill helps beginner guards build faster footwork when recovering on defense. It’s great for players who struggle to stay in front of quick ball handlers.”
